Space is the boundless three-dimensional extent in which objects and events have relative position and direction. It is the near-vacuum between celestial bodies and it is where everything (all of the planets, stars, galaxies and other objects) is found. Inspired by that, using Processing, I decided to create a metaphorical and symbolic 3D space in which earth instead of being surrounded by the moon, stars, meteors etc is surrounded by words. Earth represents today’s society, and all the words orbiting around the planet are the problems and issues that the world is facing.

The text around the planet is multiple shades of grey because the colour is moody and often associated with loss and distress, therefore it matches the energy that each word conveys. The colour black is associated with wrongdoing and negativity and that is why the circle that consist of the word society is black, because human kind is responsible for the issues that its facing. In addition, both grey and black when used in opposition with white (the background), it’s a symbol of the struggle between good and evil, and right and wrong.
