I was always interested in creating collages as a way of telling a story. Merging different textures, lost and found photos, old and new pictures, and video files opens up a whole different way to communicate a message. My aim was to combine rotoscopia techniques and motion elements with still images to create a series of surrealistic collage animations.
Surrealistic Animals Collage Series: This animation is dedicated to endangered species and dealing with, in the broadest sense, environmental issues, climate change and the human impact on the Earth. Ultimately twisted with a tropical colour palette.
The Bloom Series: The creation of this work was driven by utopistic and surrealistic visions. Dreams, hope, doubt, fear, pain, joy, and love all melt together in this digital collage narrative. In the end, we all become stories. These artworks spoke about those crucial but somehow unnoticeable moments of the journey which tend to be missed and overlooked in the constantly changing stream of life.
I took inspiration from various collage artists and designers such as Joseba Elorza, Marcos Guinoza, Julien Pacaud, Frank Moth, and Hollie Chastein.
