"Today we're beginning to realise that the new media aren't just mechanical gimmicks for creating worlds of illusion, but new languages with new and unique powers of expression.”

Our materials are computers, cameras, sensors, lights, motors, projectors, networks. We use these to develop modes of enquiry into diverse themes of digital culture. Outcomes are often highly experimental, posing questions rather than providing answers.
The work collected here from 3 year groups illustrates these new modes of approach across a range of disciplines including graphic design, data visualisation, film-making, physical sculpture and musical composition. They are bound by their common expression of code and process. Particular to the exhibition this year are the number of responses exploring the boundaries of the digital materials to which our interactions have been limited.
